New developments for Wallwork at Bury

Wallwork Heat Treatment is expanding its Bury Head Office facility with the acquisition of an adjacent 1.8-acre site.  This extension to the original site, which is already one of the largest heat treatment contract processing sites in the country, gives adequate scope for the next stage of the Wallwork Group's planned expansion.   Work is going well on the site, with the works area ready for use, the administration office block and conference centre now complete, and car parking areas virtually complete.

The offices were officially opened by Hamish Wallwork, chairman of the Wallwork Group, who commented, "The extra space available is important, as Wallwork is currently expanding further into the aerospace and motor sport markets, which require the installation of new, high technology equipment to meet the ever more stringent quality specifications."

Director Richard Burslem commented, "We see a steady growth in our aerospace business, and we intend to develop Bury as a focal point for our aerospace operations.  We have enough space here to more than double our aerospace services operation, and our planned investment in aerospace will exceed £600,000 during the next year."

The Bury site gained NADCAP accreditation for the heat treatment of flying parts earlier this year to add to its other aerospace customer approvals, and has recently increased capacity for vacuum carburising, nitriding and vacuum brazing. Wallwork Bury and its NADCAP approved coating operations subsidiary Tecvac, located near Cambridge, offer an ideal combination of heat treatment and coating services to the aerospace and medical industries, while the well-established facility at Smallheath, Birmingham will concentrate on the automotive and tooling sector.
