It’s confirmed: London General Insurance is moving to Mitcheldean

 

London General Insurance (the European underwriting company of The Warranty Group who is a leading provider of insurance products and after care solutions to the European market) is pleased to confirm that they are moving to the Vantage Point Business Village, Mitcheldean.

 

The first phase of training will take place in mid November 2007, with further phases in January and February 2008.

 

Operations Director Mr Kenny said “This is a very exciting time for our company and we are looking forward to making the first job offers in the next few weeks.”

 

LGI will be taking space at the former Xerox plant and renovating works starts immediately. £4 million pounds will be spent to turn it into an attractive, modern office including a high-tech call centre.

 

Mr Kenny added: “We were very taken by the impact that Xerox seemed to have on the Mitcheldean area and its prominence as an employer of choice for the local workforce. 

 

“Many years on, people still talk about Xerox’s importance to the community, it is our objective to replicate this, all be it on a smaller scale, as the employer of choice.”

 

Vantage Point Recruitment Fairs, a great success!

 

WITH more than 250 new jobs to be created in the Gloucestershire area London General Insurance are delighted at the success of their recruitment fairs.

 

The massive recruitment drive held  at Vantage Point, Mitcheldean had an overall attendance of 600 people.

 

“We have been completely overwhelmed by the fantastic response that we’ve received and the calibre of the candidates has been incredible” said Cath McVey, the Human Resources Director for London General Insurance Company Limited.

 

“The positive feedback that we have had from the local people in the Forest of Dean has been really encouraging and only added to our excitement about the move to Mitcheldean”

Positions on offer include call centre staff, team leaders, finance and treasury, IT workers and senior management roles.
