BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Jeff Stock started business in 1994 as a road sweeping services and hire fleet operator. He quickly realised that he could minimise capital costs and increase plant availability and profits by refurbishing road sweepers and providing a high quality refurbished or remanufactured product mounted on existing or new chassis. In 2000 he sold the hire fleet to concentrate on remanufacturing, establishing a production centre at Abenhall, near Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire.

As remanufacturing developed Stocks UK invested in parts, services and manufacturing, with a purpose-built fabrication shop, supported by on-site shot blasting and powder coating, to produce complete new sweeper bodies, cowls, sub-frames and brush equipment. Many other components are now manufactured including new wiring looms, z-drive gear boxes, nozzle boxes and pivot heads.

This investment allowed the business to provide a fast response spares service as well as providing refurbished and newly remanufactured vehicles. Based on this expertise Stocks Sweepers then created a completely new road sweeper, the S6400 in 2010 which is currently being preview demonstrated throughout the UK and has already achieved export orders. The S6400 will be launched at the FutureSource exhibition in June 2010, ExCel, London.

A new parts services centre is now being developed at Vantage Point Business Village, Mitcheldean and other parts of the business will transfer progressively to Vantage Point throughout 2010.

Today Stocks is now recognised as the premier company in the UK for remanufactured and remounted road sweepers, a leading spares supplier, and now a fully fledged road sweeper manufacturer.
