London General Insurance technical advisor selected for national award shortlist
Liz Coghlan (19) of Bream, Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, was commended in the CCf Advisor of the Year Awards in the CCF European Call Centre Awards 2008. Liz, a Technical Support Line senior advisor in the Customer Service Centre at Mitcheldean, provides London General Insurance (LGI) clients with warranty support for computer hardware, software, digital cameras, printers and satellite navigation systems.
Liz joined LGI at Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire in January. She attended Whitecross School in Lydney and the Royal Forest of Dean College before being recruited by LGI as the new customer service centre was developed at Mitcheldean.
After eight weeks' training she started work for the Tesco team and was promoted to senior advisor in March.Liz is heavily involved with new customer service projects and training, as well as the provision of direct customer service and helping the team to log customer support calls correctly.
Liz believes happy advisors equal happy clients. "She has a really positive attitude to customer contact," says Customer Service Centre manager James Tomlin, "and has helped in the introduction of a number of successful initiatives at Mitcheldean to improve customer services. She helped us achieve a performance gain of more than 7 per cent on one of our key processes, so this recognition is well deserved."
Liz joined seven other finalists in the shortlist from businesses such as Barclays Commercial Bank, Thomas Cook, United Utilities and Homeserve, for the Advisor of the Year award, part of the CCF European Call Centre Awards 2008. The awards were presented at the Birmingham Metropole Hotel on Tuesday 16th September. Sponsors include BT, British Gas, Avaya, and Sabio. The CCF awards are part of the Call Centre Expo, 16-17th September at the NEC, Birmingham.
