£1,200 trike boosts Chloe's independence
Chloe Ford of Berry Hill is on the move for Christmas, with the help of enthusiastic staff at London General Insurance (LGI), who raised funds to buy her a custom-built tricycle to improve her mobility. On their own initiative LGI staff raised over £1,200 with raffles, dress-down days, a quiz, and an auction at the LGI Summer Ball.
Chloe and her parents visited LGI at Mitcheldean on 1st December and Chloe completed a speedy celebratory tour of the offices on her new pink trike, supported by friends and staff, including her Aunt Kirsty Toogood who works in the LGI customer service centre at Mitcheldean.
The new trike will help release four-year-old Chloe, who has cerebral palsy, from sole dependence upon a wheelchair, and gives her much more freedom to enjoy family days out, riding with her father Steve and her brother, Will.
Chloe's mother Georgina said, "We were surprised and very pleased to benefit from the fundraising at LGI and receive this great present for Chloe. She loves the trike already, and it is helping her to build up her strength and enjoy herself. I'm sure it will help boost her confidence even more now that she has so much more mobility."
"This staff fundraising initiative produced a great result for Chloe," said Martin Scrivens, Learning & Development general manager at London General Insurance. "We're all very pleased this has made a real difference to Chloe and her family."
