“LGI has won a number of new contracts in the last quarter of 2007,” says  director Ian Kenny, “and is now looking for high calibre people to underpin the expected growth in 2008”.  One of the most important recent new business wins for London General follows a contract awarded by the RAC to The Warranty Group, to support the recent launch by the RAC of a series of innovative warranty solutions for car retailers.  This new RAC service provides what is believed to be the most comprehensive car warranty available in the UK.

While call centre staff form the bulk of the new requirement, there are more than 30 jobs on offer, including vacancies for professional finance and IT staff as well as experienced technical support specialists.

“These vacancies are all career positions with opportunities for promotion,” explained LGI HR manager Cath McVey.  “We are looking for motor claims engineers, call centre specialists with electrical goods experience, and a number of administrative posts. Depending on responsibilities and experience, salaries for these jobs range between £13,500 and £26,000 pa.”

LGI has invested more than £500,000 in training at Mitcheldean to ensure the highest standards for customers and staff over the last three months. This includes a high level of IT and telecommunications expertise including e-mail support, chat, call transfer capability, voice recognition, and Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) to provide a rapid and responsive 24 hr service to customers.

“Full training will be given to all successful candidates,” added Ian Kenny.  “We offer a high quality service to our customers, and we’re prepared to make substantial investments in our people, their skills and support facilities to make sure our high standards are maintained.”
